Janessa Waltrip
Pharmacy Assistant
Janessa Waltrip, a Ventura County native, has always had a strong passion for animals ever since she was a little girl. Her family would often find her “playing vet” bandaging up her Beanie Babies with tissues and other odds and ends.
As a young adult, Janessa began actively pursuing her love of animals first my beginning to work as a Veterinary Assistant in 2012. She went on to graduate from U.C. Davis with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science in 2014.
Janessa joined Ohana Pet Hospital in August 2015 as a Veterinary Assistant and is now working as a Pharmacy Assistant to expand her knowledge of the pharmaceutical aspect of veterinary medicine. She is also a volunteer at the Ojai Raptor Center in pursuit of her other passion, to become a certified wildlife rehabilitator.
When not volunteering or working, Janessa spends quality time with her husband, Perry, whom she married in 2016, and their two cats, Kovu and Squeaks.
