Just three years after graduating from vet school at the University of Sydney, Dr. Stefanie Scheff was already discouraged by the limitations of traditional Western veterinary care. “I was somewhat disillusioned with allopathic medications being used as a band-aid,” she recalls. “I felt that for the most part, the medications were covering up the symptoms and never solving the root cause, in addition to causing other problems in the body.” When she learned about veterinary acupuncture at a conference, she knew this was the approach she wanted to take.
